first take on a “sweet” Vermont house design. As usual I’m trying to do it all with this one.
Looks good so far. Not sure about the garage. A gable there would be nice.
I have a variety of garage options. The gable looked so suburban and too busy. (this is a rural house in the woods) and there isn’t room in the budget for an actual barn so I tried this simple form that you see everywhere around here. More vernacular- less gentrified. I expect that with dark siding this form might feel right. A gabled garage would look nice if it was only 12′ to 16′ wide. The house is actually smallish.
On second look, that makes sense. A gable would be more like the cookie cutter homes I’m used to seeing around these parts.
Oohhh, I like this one. Any more views to post? And I think the garage is perfect!
Do you offer plans of your modern farmhouse?
Not yet. It’s on my list of things to do if business slows down. I should look at the drawings I have and see how close they are to being ready to list on Houseplans.com
Another request for the plans
we discovered the white rendering on some odd website and searched until we found you
(and thanks a bunch – your blog has become a total time suck – so much fun reading (and a tear when you said goodbye to puppy)
and can y o at least identify which category this falls in ?
know its not tiny and I think i can comfortably say not immoral
we are looking for 2000 to 2500 for a great bit of farmland in upper lower Michigan
thanks – great work
I promise I’ll get these plans ready…soon…at some point….
Never got final pics of this as the clients were very private. But there is little I would change. A few things with windows perhaps.
almost – I’m close!
